The
ACS7xx families of current sensors offer small, inexpensive, isolated current
sensing solutions without the use of an opto-isolator or current transformer.
Current is measured by the strength of the magnetic field it generates, while
passing through the integrated power leadframe and past a Hall-effect magnetic
field sensor. Integration of the current path into the package provides high accuracy
and sensitivity, while relieving the customer of the design and manufacture of
a magnetic circuit.
The
ACS754 is our third generation mid-range current sensor, available with measurement
ranges from 50A to 200A and operating temperature ranges to 150C. The SOIC8 packaged
ACS704 has 20A dynamic range. Over the industrial temperature range, worst-case
accuracy for the 754 is 5%, and the 704 measures 10A with 6% worst-case accuracy.
With their low internal resistance, both parts have robust over-current tolerance
and dissipate 100 to 1000 times less heat than typical sense resistor solutions. |
