The
newly released LH79524 (208 CABGA 32-bit external bus) and LH79525 (176 LQFP 16-bit
external bus) expands the ARM720T branch of the BlueStreak brand of SHARP SoCs.
These products offer a full assortment of essential peripherals including an integrated
LCD graphics controller with touch screen support, a 10/100 Ethernet MAC, and
USB 2.0 (12Mbps) client interfaces. Other branches include the introductory level
ARM7TDMI based LH754xx parts and the high end (up to 266MHz) ARM922T LH7A40x parts.
All
members of the BlueStreak Family of SoCs lower system cost, and ease development
by including an integrated color LCD controller, and a consistent list of essential
peripherals consisting of multiple 16-bit counter timers and UARTs, Synchronous
Serial Ports that support multiple protocols, a Real Time Clock (RTC), and a Watch
Dog Timer (WDT).
The
LH79524/5 has an on-chip voltage regulator with a 3.3V input to generate the 1.8V
core voltage, eliminating the need for a separate power supply. The part also
supports multiple clocking modes including Active, Standby, Sleep and Stop allowing
for maximum battery life in embedded applications. An Integrated low voltage Brownout
detector is also included to enhance system performance by responding to low battery
conditions before they become critical.
The
CPU can be clocked at up to 77.4MHz over the full industrial (-40°C to + 85°C)
temperature range for extreme environmental conditions. The integrated MMU enables
full featured operating systems such as Linux or WinCE to be hosted. An integrated
8KB unified cache allows for maximum on-chip execution. The chip also has 16KB
of on-chip SRAM for additional on-chip capabilities.
Four
DMA channels, Vectored Interrupt support, and a synchronous DRAM controller round
out the processor support blocks.
The
special peripherals of this chip include a 10/100 Ethernet MAC, I²S CODEC
interface and a USB 2.0 (12 Mbps) device port to allow cost effective implementation
of products ranging from industrial controllers to MP3 players. |
