Toshiba, a world leader in microcontrollers (MCUs), provides a
seamless product line of 8- to 32-bit embedded microcontrollers
with a large variety of on-board peripherals. The Flash
MCUs are widely used in industrial applications and reduce
product development turnaround time. The wide selection
of peripheral functions is supported with enhanced, high-quality
security mechanisms. Toshiba has one of the largest product
portfolios with a large number of general-purpose microcontrollers
available in mass production.
Starting
with 8-bit microcontrollers, the latest generation of devices offers the performance
levels and peripheral selection previously only associated with 16-bit solutions.
The 32-bit CISC MCUs implement a powerful architecture, capable of executing instructions
in a 50 ns cycle time (typical). Designed to cover a wide voltage range, the Toshiba
MCUs operate at 5V for industrial systems, down to 1.8V for applications where
low-power consumption is essential. Specific microcontroller products include:
TMP86FS49: The
TMP86FS49 is an 8-bit microcontroller incorporating 60 Kbytes of Flash memory
and a large number of on-chip peripheral functions such as UART (two channels),
synchronous serial interface (two channels) and I2C bus interface (one channel)
as communication functions. This product includes a 10-bit A/D converter, various
timers and is available in three types of packages, making it ideal for consumer
and industrial applications, and for networked home appliances. The microcontroller
supports on-board programming and offers enhanced security functionality to protect
the user program against unauthorized external read-out, and the high-speed microcontroller
CPU has low power consumption. |
