Micron NAND Flash Memory

You know a good memory when you design one in. It’s the one that lets your customers store more—more pictures, video, and audio. And it’s the one with a flexible architecture that’s easy for you to design in. If you don’t know NAND Flash memory by now, you probably should. With our NAND Flash memory, you can easily tackle new designs to meet the needs of a fast-paced market. You have your choice of industry-standard densities, voltages, and configurations with Pb-free packaging, plus you get extensive support with controller manufacturers and software support options.
For the latest information on all these devices, see Micron’s website at www.micron.com/products/nand.

NAND Flash Memory Product Types

Discrete Devices

Micron’s high-density, discrete NAND Flash memory devices include 1Gb to 64Gb SLC and 8Gb to 128Gb MLC. Our NAND product road map is at 72nm, with 50nm products ramping in 1H08.

Multichip Packages

Whether you’re trying to minimize power consumption, maximize board space, increase speed—or do all three—Micron’s multichip packages (MCPs) can optimize your design. We combine some of the highest-performing mobile memory devices available with the known good die (KGD) testing and assembly technologies needed to implement them in our Mobile DRAM and NAND Flash MCPs.

Package-on-Package

Our MCPs include a relatively new packaging option: package-on-package or PoP. This fully tested, stackable, chip-scale packaging solution—available in Mobile DRAM/NAND combinations—is ideal for small form factors. JEDEC is working toward finalizing standards that would facilitate a multiple-sourced solution.

Managed NAND Flash

Our Managed NAND product line combines Micron’s NAND Flash memory with a Micron-developed multimedia card (MMC) controller in a low-profile BGA package. A high-speed, industry-standard interface, the Flash controller corrects any potential NAND design concerns with error correction code (ECC), block erase, and bad block management technology. This flexible, technology-independent, mass storage solution alleviates the need for host software to accommodate process node migrations and different vendors, streamlining the design and validation process.
