IDT is the leading supplier for switch products

IDT Offers a wide portfolio of bus switches, analog switches, data switches, audio switches, USB switches and hybrid switches. IDT’s family of switches are used to minimize redundant circuitry, while providing performance, flexibility, cost savings, and minimizing board space. IDT’s switches are also the lowest power consumption devices in the market, and are well suited for portable and handheld applications.

Key Features

  • Lowest power consumption in the industry
    • Requires less than 8μW (micro watt) typically to switch high speed data like USB 2.0 (480Mbps)
  • Superb ESD performance
    • Exceeds industry standard with Human Body Model (HBM) rating as high as 12kV
  • Lowest RON in its class
    • Less than 0.5Ω typically, making it well suited for sensitive audio applications
  • Lowest standby current in its class
    • Less than 10nA standby current, IDT switches are well suited for handheld applications

Hybrid Switches are designed to switch between high speed data signals and audio signals. Unlike typical switch devices, Hybrid Switches can support a 480Mbps data rate (USB 2.0) and ±1.5V audio signal. Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) for audio signal is less than 0.01%, and with the lowest RON in its class, these devices are suitable for sensitive stereo headset applications.

Applications: Cell phones, MP3 players, portable navigation devices

HS221P10:

  • SPDT switch for USB2.0 and Audio Signal
  • Support negative signaling for Audio at ±1.5V
  • < 8μA power consumption at 480Mbps data rate
  • THD < 0.01% for audio signal
  • Lowest RON in its class
  • Less than 10nA standby current
  • +5.5V to -2.0V tolerant

  • Single pole triple throw (SPTT) switch
  • Switch between USB2.0 signal, Audio Signal, UART
  • Support negative signaling for Audio at ±1.5V
  • < 8μW power consumption at 480Mbps data rate
  • Lowest RON in its class
  • THD < 0.01% for audio signal
  • Less than 10nA standby current
  • Power down mode
  • +5.5V to -2.0V tolerant

USB switches are designed to switch high speed data signals. With over 700MHz bandwidth, these switches support both USB2.0 full speed and high speed (480Mbps) operation, and can also be used in many switching applications such as USB ports expansion, SIM card, UART signals and all high speed data signals.

Applications: Laptops, SIM cards, flash memory controllers, USB port expanders

  • SPDT switch for USB2.0 (480Mbps) signals
  • < 1μA low standby current
  • Low RON < 6Ω typical
  • Bidirectional operation

  • SPST switch for USB2.0 (480Mbps) signals
  • < 1μA low standby current
  • Low RON < 6Ω typical
  • Bidirectional operation

Selection Guide

Analog switches are used to switch between audio signals and/or slower data rate applications. With less than 0.5Ω RON typically, the devices are suitable for high end audio switching applications. These devices can also be used in many switching applications such as USB 1.1 ports, SIM cards, and UART ports.

Applications: Audio headsets, speaker headsets, SIM cards, PCMCIA cards, Modems

  • +1.8V to +5.5V operations
  • < 0.5Ω RON typically
  • < 50nA supply current
  • Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) < 0.03%
  • Available in 1.54x2.02mm CSP package
