Virtex Product Line
Melville,
NY - June 1, 2006 - Nu Horizons Electronics Corp.
(NASDAQ:NUHC), a leading global distributor of advanced
technology active semiconductor, display and system solutions,
today announced the introduction of their newest "Xpress
Track" education and training program seminar series
featuring advancements in the Virtex Family of Platform
FPGAs from one of their leading suppliers, Xilinx, Inc.
The seminar series, scheduled to take place throughout
North America in June and July, offers engineers the opportunity
to learn about Xilinx's recently-announced Virtex-5 ultimate
system integration platform.
The
new Virtex-5 family represents the fifth generation
of Virtex domain-optimized field programmable gate arrays
(FPGA) from Xilinx, built upon the industry's most advanced
65-nanometer (nm) triple-oxide technology. Virtex-5 incorporates
new breakthrough ExpressFabric technology which
delivers unique performance, cost and flexibility advantages
inherent to the proven ASMBL (Advanced Silicon Modular
Block) architecture.
Nu
Horizons Xpress Track seminars and workshops are conducted
in company training centers. Each training center replicates
an ideal design environment for engineers interested in
leveraging Xilinx's development tools, architectures and
products. In the Virtex FPGA series, designers will discover
how the Virtex family can meet leading edge technology
requirements and when and why to design with Virtex-4
versus Virtex-5.
"Nu
Horizons is very pleased with the strong customer response
received since launching the Xpress Track program this
past January," said Dave Bowers, president of Nu
Horizons Distribution division. "Since inception,
we have trained thousands of engineers globally and our
emphasis remains on educating designers with the latest
technologies available, while providing all the proper
tools necessary to expedite their design process. We look
forward to collaborating with Xilinx to increase engineering
awareness about this important V5 technology."
In
addition to training and real-time design evaluation,
all Xpress Track seminar attendees will receive discounts
on the latest hardware and software bundles available
from Nu Horizons and Xilinx.
