General Description
• The SparX-G5-EVB Reference Systems are complete standalone 5 port unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet Switches with integrated triple-speed PHYs. With their straightforward design, they demonstrate a very cost effective way to build non blocking triplespeed Ethernet Switches. • The 5-port SparX-G5 Layer 2 Gigabit Ethernet switches have been developed for desktop switching, SOHO and small- to medium-sized business (SMB) applications. Both switches feature an on-chip Intel-compatible 8051 controller, 8K MAC address table, 4K virtual LAN (VLAN) support and integrated triple-speed (10BASE-T, 100BASETX and 1000BASE-T) transceivers. • The SparX-G5 Switch-On-A-Chip use an on-chip Intel-compatible 8051 controller for initialization and PHY monitoring. In these unmanaged reference switches the 8051CPU boots from an external serial EEPROM. • Capable to support LACP, RSTP, SNMP and 802.1x
