Renesas R8C/Tiny22 and R8C/Tiny23 16-bit MCUsR8C/22 and R8C/23 devices are FullCAN (ver.2.0B), low-cost 16-bit MCUs that are functionally optimized for industrial and automotive networked system applications. They expand our popular R8C Tiny product line—embedded system solutions that are small in size, yet big in performance, functionality and value. The 20MHz CPU core contains multiple general-purpose and specific-task registers, supports 1MB of address space, includes a 16-bit multiplier, and achieves a 50ns minimum instruction-execution time. The CPU’s 89 instructions deliver high programming efficiency and are code-compatible with higher functionality MCUs in the M16C family platform.

The R8C/22 and R8C/23 MCUs provide a high level of peripheral integration. Besides the on-chip Full CAN function, they have a 40MHz on-chip oscillator, POR and LVD functions, data flash memory, timers, A/D, excellent EMI/EMS performance and more. A built-in hardware LIN core can be used as a CAN-LIN gateway.
