AQL - Acceptance Quality Level
AMBA - Advanced Microcontroller Bus Architecture (internal bus of ARM CPU)
ARM7 - 32-Bit RISC CPU core designed by ARM Ltd., UK
ATM - Asynchronous Transfer Mode. A network technology for both local area networks and wide area networks that supports real-time voice, video and data.
BGA - Ball Grid Array(IC package)
Bluetooth - Commemorates a Danish king of the 10th century who unified Denmark and Norway. Nowadays, Bluetooth unifies communication devices with computing devices wirelessly.

CMOS - Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor. A technology that creates integrated circuits that use less power than those made with other MOS (metal oxide semiconductor) or bipolar processes.
CMOS FET- Complementary Metal-Oxide Semiconductor FET
CPU - Central Processing Unit. The brain of any computer system consisting of data registers, computational circuits, a control block, and I/O (input/output).

FHSS - Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum
Gm-C - Transconductance component filter tuning technique employing comparison of reference clock with the oscillator frequency, resulting in adjustment of frequency characteristics of the Gm-C filter.
GSI - Government Source Inspection (or Government Inspector)
G-FSK - Gaussian Frequency Shift Keying
HCI - Host Controller Interface
IC - Integrated circuit. Miniaturized circuitry on a silicon chip designed and connected into logic blocks to perform a specialized task.
ICE - In-Circuit Emulator
(IP) Internet Protocol - Standard for communicating over the Internet.
IRM - Input monitoring rate. Incoming packets are monitored on a per-flow basis for bandwidth reservation and conformance checking.
JAN (J) - Joint Army/Navy
JANS (JS) - Joint Army/Navy - most Stringent reliability level
JANTX (JTX) - Joint Army/Navy with eXtra Testing requirements
JANTXV (JTXV) - JANTX with Visual inspection requirements
JEDEC - Joint Electron Device Engineering Council
JFET - Junction Field-Effect Transistor
JTAG - Joint Test Action Group (interface for in-circuit debugging and testing)
IRM - Image Rejection Mixer
ISM - Industrial, Scientific, Medical (a global, public radio frquency band, 2.4GHz)
IF - Intermediate Frequency
L2CAP - Logical Link Control and Adaption Protocol (part of Bluetooth Software Stack)
(LAN) Local Area Network - A network that connects computers in a building or campus.
LNA - Low Noise Amplifier
LMP - Link Manager Protocol (part of Bluetooth Software Stack)
Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) - A network that connects computers within a metropolitan area such as a city.
MCP - Multi-Chip Package

P-CHANNEL - Positive-type material Channel
(PHY) Physical layer - An integrated circuit that performs an interface function between the communications system and the physical media.
PIN - Particle Impact Noise
PLL - Phase Locked Loop
PMOS - P-channel Metal-Oxide Semiconductor
PNP - Positive/Negative/Positive structure (Bipolar Transistor)
POS - Packet over SONET. A metropolitan area network or wide area network transport technology that carries IP packets directly over SONET transmission without any data link facility.
QoS - Type(s) of quality of service/priority-engines supported: Source Port, MAC Address, IEEE 802.1p, TOS-field (DiffServ)
QPL - Qualified Parts List
RF - Radio Frequency
RISC - Reduced Instruction Set Computer (or Chip). A type of processor architecture that processes programs more quickly than conventional microprocessors because it uses a reduced set of instructions.
(SAN) Storage Area Networks - A storage networking architecture that allows for the flexible addition of storage resources to server farms, presently using Fiber Channel technology.

SCR - Silicon Controlled Rectifier

SEM - Scanning Electron Microscope
