North
American distribution agreement gives Nu Horizons first
power line
September
4, 2002, Tucson, Arizona – C&D Technologies
has signed a North American distribution agreement with
Nu Horizons Electronics Corp. under which the high-technology
distributor will carry power and magnetics products from
C&D’s Power Electronics Division. The new deal,
which gives Nu Horizons its first power line, reflects
the importance of the distribution channel in growing
the Division’s sales.
Under
the terms of the new agreement Nu Horizons will hold inventory
and support the full C&D Technologies line-up of power
supplies, DC-DC converters, and magnetics for the telecommunications,
office equipment, industrial automation and instrumentation
markets. Key factors behind the appointment of Nu Horizons
were the distributor’s comprehensive coverage and
proven technical design-in and support capabilities including
a strong FAE program.
Commenting
on the appointment of Nu Horizons, Brian Crowe, vice president
of Global Sales and Marketing for C&D’s Power
Electronics Division, said: “Nu Horizons is one
of the USA’s premier demand creation electronics
distributors. Through this agreement we can extend our
technical sales presence in North America and further
penetrate our target markets. The Nu Horizons focus on
design generation, combined with C&D’s breadth
of power products, is a very complementary fit for both
companies.”
Dave
Bowers, senior vice president of marketing for Nu Horizons,
adds: “The addition of C&D’s AC-DC and
DC-DC power solutions complements and strengthens our
existing product portfolio and positions Nu Horizons with
more complete solutions for our customers. Our strong
presence with mid-tier and emerging customers will help
C&D Technologies reach more accounts, while furthering
our position in the communications, industrial and instrumentation
markets.”
