Vitesse Expands Asia Pacific Distribution Channel Through Nu Horizons

CAMARILLO, Calif. - August 4, 2003 - Vitesse Semiconductor Corp. (NASDAQ: VTSS)- today announced it has expanded distribution services throughout the Asia Pacific by broadening its relationship with Nu Horizons Electronics Corp. (NASDAQ: NUHC).

Vitesse will add Nu Horizons to its established Asian representative and distribution network and have the company focus on servicing customers and expanding market presence in Australia, Hong Kong, India, Korea, Malaysia, People's Republic of China, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand. The agreement is effective immediately with customer support beginning in August 2003.
"To quickly meet the growing demands of the vital Asia Pacific electronics market, it was imperative that Vitesse add a global distributor to the region that understands the competitive environment, is knowledgeable about our products and could immediately service our customers," said Phil Richards, vice president of channel sales for Vitesse. "Nu Horizons offers these key attributes and is an ideal extension to our worldwide team. This program will leverage the success of our exclusive North American distribution agreement."

Nu Horizons will manage the distribution program from its headquarters office in Singapore with customer service teams located in each of the targeted regions. Nu Horizons has been Vitesse's exclusive distributor in the United States since September 2001.
