Anadigm
Selects Nu Horizons Electronics Corp. As Global Distribution Partner for Programmable
Analog ICs
Tempe,
AZ and Melville, NY -March 31, 2005 Anadigm, the programmable analog company;
and Nu Horizons Electronics Corp. (NASDAQ: NUHC), a leading distributor of high
technology active components; today announced that they have entered a global
distribution agreement under which Nu Horizons will distribute the full line of
Anadigm's field programmable analog arrays (FPAAs) throughout North and South
America, Europe and the Asia Pacific region.
The analog equivalent of a field-programmable gate array (FPGA), Anadigm's FPAAs provides
designers with an off-the-shelf programmable IC that can be used instead of discretes
or ASICs to implement analog signal processing functions quickly and cost-effectively.
Putting applications such as analog filtering, sensor conditioning, and basic
PID control under software control; FPAAs can be reconfigured during development,
in the field, or on-the-fly, by an embedded microcontroller within the end system.
Using AnadigmDesigner® EDA software tools, users can fully simulate an analog
design and immediately download it to the FPAA for testing and validation. Anadigm's
RangeMaster products make the process of defining and debugging the analog front
end of RFID readers much faster than traditional design techniques; and their
SonicMaster products for audio applications answer the demand for real-time, reprogrammable
signal processing.
"FPAAs
take the mystery out of analog design while opening up a new range of capabilities
for applications such as audio and RFID," said Dave Bowers, president of
Nu Horizons Semiconductor division. "In distributing Anadigm's products,
we are adding another dimension to our extensive experience in analog and field-programmable
technologies, and a new category of advanced solutions that will help our customers
bring leadership products to market."
"Nu Horizons has the experience, the focus, and the applications expertise that Anadigm
is looking for as we expand our presence in the RFID and audio spaces," said
Bill McLean, president and CEO at Anadigm. "We look forward to building on
the successful demand creation model, services and global customer reach that
Nu Horizons provides."

About
Anadigm
Anadigm® brings platform-based design to the analog world
with pre-qualified software and hardware components that allow complex analog
circuits to be implemented in an analog equivalent to the FPGA. Designed to implement
signal conditioning, filtering, data acquisition, closed-loop control, and other
analog functions in a wide range of embedded systems, Anadigm® FPAAs are the
first programmable analog ICs that can adapt on the fly to perform multiple functions,
adjust to different environmental conditions, or compensate for aging equipment.
Founded in January 2000 as a venture-backed technology spinoff from Motorola,
Anadigm® maintains U.S. headquarters in Tempe, Ariz., and European headquarters
in Crewe, UK. For further information, visit Anadigm® on the Web at www.anadigm.com.
