Nu Horizons Electronics Corp. Announces Exclusive Multi-Regional Agreement to Distribute P.A. Semi Multicore Processors
MELVILLE, NY – February 5, 2007 - Nu Horizons Electronics Corp. (NASDAQ: NUHC), a leading global distributor of advanced technology semiconductor, display and system solutions, today announced a multi-regional agreement under which it will distribute the P.A. Semi PWRficient™ family of microprocessors – a Power Architecture™-based 64-bit, multicore, scalable processor line that consumes three-to-four times less power than competing processors. The agreement includes sole distribution rights in the Americas, Greater China, Southeast Asia, India, Australia/New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Ireland.
The family of PWRficient 64-bit multicore processors addresses the multibillion-dollar high-performance embedded-computing markets and fundamentally redefines power, cost and throughput efficiency in high-performance processing. This unique multicore system-on-chip architecture, underpinned by 50 patents filed and pending, delivers high performance (up to 2GHz) per core at phenomenally low power consumption, in addition to delivering key breakthroughs in cost and throughput efficiency.
