ICS
is pleased to announce the release of a family of Frequency Synthesizers with
integrated Fanout Buffers. These exciting new devices are designed specifically
for storage, networking, and telecom markets. The PLL performance reaches a new
pinnacle, meeting the system phase noise requirements of the intended applications.
The integrated fan-out buffer serves applications that include multiple communications
interfaces all requiring the same reference clock frequency, such as is common
in SAN applications.
Designed
to replace a crystal oscillator and buffer combination with a single package the
family is currently comprised of seven products, all of which have six fanout
buffers and come in a very small 24-pin, 300-MIL SOIC package. The major product
differentiator among the family members is their output frequencies (ranging from
53.125 to 625MHz) and thus the applications they serve.
Like
other frequency generator products from ICS, each part in this family requires
only a low cost twin-lead crystal as an external low frequency (<27Mhz) reference
input. Each device produces an application specific set of frequencies via external
select pins. The broad frequency range, exceptional performance, and wide selection
of output signal types make these devices a cost-effective and ideal solution
for applications with stringent timing requirements.
