Digilab XCR board featuring a Xilinx Coolrunner CPLD
Digilab XCR board featuring a Xilinx Coolrunner CPLD

The Digilab XCR circuit board provides an outstanding development platform for digital logic circuits. Featuring a Xilinx XCR3064 Coolrunner CPLD and several useful I/ O devices, the XCR board provides an excellent platform for developing CPLD-based designs. With 64 macrocells and 1600 usable gates, the CPLD can accommodate a wide array of projects. The XCR board is loaded with several useful I/ O devices, including a user-settable clock, so countless interesting designs can be implemented without the need for any additional hardware. And since the XCR board is supported by the free Xilinx Webpack design tools, projects can be quickly and easily implemented with no additional costs.

The XCR board is the ideal choice for entry to mid-level engineering students. It runs on batteries (more than 40 hour per set), so students can implement designs outside of class, saving valuable in-lab hours for instruction and interaction. When coupled with the free WebPack software from Xilinx, the XCR board gives students unprecedented access to modern design tools, methods, and devices.

The XCR board, like all Digilab boards, is supported by a growing collection of reference and design materials at the Digilent website. Webpack CAD software is freely available at the Xilinx website (www.xilinx.com). XCR reference material is available at the Digilent website (www.digilent.cc).
