On Tuesday December 16, 2008 Nu Horizons and Renesas will be holding a online seminar highlighting the capabilities and features of their Direct-drive LCD offering. For your convenience, there will be two sessions that day in order to accommodate your schedule: 11:00am EST and 3:00pm EST

Part 1: 60 minute - Technical overview of the H8S/2378 MCU and the Direct-drive technology
Part 2: 60 minute –Implementation of Direct-drive technology on the H8S/2378

To ease the development and cost of low to high-end systems that can display complex images on QVGA and VGA up to XVGA TFT-LCD panels, Renesas now offers 16-bit H8S series and 32bit H8SX / SH2A / SH4A series MCUs that have a TFT-LCD parallel-interface with direct-drive capabilities. These devices simplify designs and reduces cost by eliminating the need for an external LCD controller chip, while providing sufficient throughput to perform both system control tasks and execute the graphics software for generating animated display images. Moreover, these devices are supported by a defined software application-programming interface (API) to which 3rd party graphic routines and application programs can be easily ported.
