Introduction to Virtex-5

Course Description

This class is designed to help engineers who are evaluating the Virtex 5 family of FPGAs from Xilinx understand more about several of the new and improved features of the Virtex 5 family of FPGAs. The class will focus on the recently announced Virtex 5 LX family and the labs will be implemented on evaluation kit populated with a 5VLX50-10FF676CES. The presentation will include a comparison between the Virtex 4 and Virtex 5 families. The two labs will focus on how the new features can improve the performance of your next design.

V5's new PLL and Use with DCMs
Lab 1 – Using the DCM and PLL on the Xilinx Virtex-5
Improved Features in V5
Lab 2 – Serial Controlled Arbitrary Waveform Generator
